Una Woodruff Exhibition

'Spellbound'

17 November - 3 December 2011

"The paintings in this exhibition have been produced over quite a number of years.  There is usually a 'paradoxical' element in my images, but some pictures are more magical than others.

Some of the images were intended as illustrations for projects which were never completed, for instance, three of the fairy paintings were for a calendar.  Various other pictures were for a projected boon on 'nature spirits' with writer Andy Baggott, which failed to get off the ground.  It's a project I'd like to carry out one day, though my concept for the book has changed over the years.

All the pictures reflect my love of the countryside and a lifetime practising magic."
