Mabel Lucie Attwell

 

The Original Art Work of Mabel Lucie Attwell.
Mabel Lucie Attwell was born on 4 June 1879 at Mile End, London. She studied art at Heatherley's and St Martin's School of Art but completed neither course. Her works were published in Bystander and Tatler magazines and she illustrated ten books for W & R Chambers between 1905 and 1913. In 1906 she designed her first poster for the London Underground and in 1911 began designing postcards and greetings cards Valentine's.
