Valerie Greeley

Valerie Greeley was born in Bury, Lancashire in 1953 and studied at Manchester College of Art and Design/Manchester Metropolitan University where she passed with a first class BA honours degree. Her work is very influenced by the teachings of Walter Crane who established a commitment to drawing from life and observing nature.

Book illustration gives her the opportunity to combine her love of decoration and design in addition to the illustrations. Valerie has worked as a pattern designer as well as an illustrator of greeting cards, ceramics designs, printed textiles and books.

Books illustrated include: A Book of Days, Down the Lane, The Acorn’s Story, White is the Moon, Little Grey Rabbit’s Country Book, A Year of Prayers, Christmas Memories.
