After studying at both Winchester and Coventry Schools of Art, Peter became a teacher at the Bournemouth School of Art. As an illustrator of children's stories, he was contracted by the Royal Mail to produce a series of stamps celebrating classic fairy tales.

Both Chronicle Books and Orion are constantly publishing his works. He has produced many fine illustrated books for both children and adults, including The Princess Fairy Tales and The Possibilty of Angels.
